NYSE Trading Floor
NYSE Trading Floor
The most interesting place at the Exchange is its heart - the trading floor. Of course, now it plays much lesser role in the Exchange life with so many trades executed remotely through electronic systems, but it is still very impressive.
With thousands of displays, phone lines and people working on the floor it is indeed the place to see when visiting the Exchange.
The trading floor is a set of several huge connected rooms with 22 m high ceilings and hundreds of booths dedicated and licensed to different financial companies. The biggest and the world's most famous ones are represented here
During the trading hours the place is filled by hundreds of people from across the world, the opening and closing bell is rung by many famous Exchange guests, representing countries and huge corporations, but after the trading day ends at 4 pm, the floor is empty and only the left jackets remind of the people working there.
